Who we are
LatinaCon is a conference organized by La Noticia Media in Charlotte, NC. This website (latinacon.com) lets you learn about the event, buy tickets, and manage your account. When we say "we" or "us" in this policy, we mean the LatinaCon team at La Noticia.
What information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the event and provide you a good experience:
- Your name and email address — when you create an account, buy tickets, or fill out a form.
- Your email preferences — if you subscribe to our newsletter.
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Social login info — if you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email, and profile picture. We do not access your contacts, posts, or any other account data.
- Basic usage data — pages you visit, your browser type, and general location (city level). This helps us understand how people use the site.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Process your ticket purchases and send you order confirmations and event tickets.
- Send you event updates and newsletters (only if you opt in — you can unsubscribe anytime).
- Let you sign in and manage your account, tickets, and preferences.
- Improve the website and understand how attendees interact with it.
Who we share your information with
We use trusted services to run the site. These services only receive the data they need to do their job:
- Stripe — processes payments securely.
- Pretix — manages ticket inventory and check-in.
- Resend — delivers transactional emails (confirmations, tickets, magic links).
- Google Analytics — helps us understand site traffic (anonymized).
- Google and LinkedIn — if you choose to sign in with these services.
We never sell your personal information to anyone.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to understand how the site is used (via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager). You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features like staying signed in won't work.
Signing in with Google or LinkedIn
When you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we only request basic profile information: your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not request access to your contacts, calendar, posts, connections, or any other account data. You can revoke access at any time from your Google or LinkedIn account settings.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account and ticket information for as long as you have an account with us. If you'd like us to delete your data, contact us and we'll remove it within 30 days, unless we're required by law to keep it longer (for example, financial records).
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we have about you. You can also unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. Just email us at info@latinacon.com and we'll take care of it.
Children's privacy
LatinaCon is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us their data, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll post a notice on the site. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
